About
I graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) with Honors in June 2006 with over 1000-hours of supervised training and field experience including but not limited to; physical therapy clinics, hospitals, the Colorado Special Olympics and on-location pre/post event massage for athletes. I am trained in several modalities including Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Therapeutic Massage, Normalization of Soft Tissue, Sports and Orthopedic Massage as well as Integrative massage, a whole body mind healing experience.
In addition to my extensive education and training, I am an athlete. I train and compete in triathlons. I truly believe that I would not be able to train and compete as successfully without receiving regular massage. At the beginning of school I found myself working on many triathletes and decided to start competing myself so that I could fully understand the demands of an athlete. I can honestly say that I do understand. I understand the very early a.m. workouts, the 17 hour days, the time consumption of a hearty training plan and most importantly the mental and physical demands that training and competition have on our body/mind being. I’ve come to find that mental strength and health is just as important as the physical endurance required from competitive sports. My unique combination of education and athletic experience allows me the added advantage of skill and first hand experience necessary to provide thoughtful and beneficial bodywork to each of my clients.
