Fighting something, winning the battle

01.03.08

Finished last week strong and felt great at the beginning of this week except being a little more tired than normal.  Monday hit the pool for 1800 yds, Tuesday ran 4 miles and starting Wednesday I felt like I was fighting something but quickly decided I would fight back and win the battle.  So many people around me have been sick - my sister was near death over Christmas with the flu and the majority of my clients have been carrying around this winter cold for months.  I’ve been taking Source Naturals Wellness Formula which I swear by and have taken for years.  I started yesterday with Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat tea and a homeopathic remedy Natrum Muriaticum.  I’ve also been keeping my neck protected with a scarf which helps to protect from further wind invasion which is a school of thought from Chinese medicine.  Wind invasion which many times occurs through the neck can contribute to colds and sickness.   This combo of treatments will keep me on top of my game and functioning through this cold without compromising myself or others.

This morning I feel like I’m moving through the stages of a cold but that everything is dialed down to a reasonable level.  I’m taking today off from working out and will soak in a hot bath with Eucalyptus oil this morning.   I always take the natural approach to sickness and injury - holistic medicine works,  you just have to understand how it works.  I’ve been practicing a holistic approach to my health for about 5 years and am a firm believer that my body has everything it needs to heal.   Hoping to get on the bike tomorrow for a spin and then a 10 mile run on Saturday.  I have a big day today with clients start at 9:30 this morning and won’t be done until after 8pm.  Bigger day than normal for me but boy, it’s just so hard to say ‘no’ when clients need the work.  Loving what I do doesn’t help either, I’m a lucky lady.
